Discovering Gallipoli is very exciting: Gallipoli appears in a magic atmosphere, with its jagged coastline, and its old part entirely built on an island, dipped in the sky-blue Ionian sea, protected by a surrounding wall and connected to the mainland with an old masonry bridge.


The antique village appears like a picture, a wonderful fresco belonging to the past, with its white oriental houses, its alleys directed towards the Cathedral, the Confraternity Churches, the shadow plays of the courtyards.

This city was built on a reef in the shape of frying pan, whose handle is the wonderful masonry bridge; it was fortified with very high walls, and it was possible to enter in it through a single door, close to the Anjou Castle.

In the surroundings there are many bathing resorts, for every taste: Santa Caterina, Porto Selvaggio, Lido Pizzo, Marina di Mancaversa. All these resorts have the same peculiarity: the emerald green sea.
